The OENOVITI International Network successfully hosted a Mini Symposium on digital transformation in wine tourism on 13 November 2025, in collaboration with the ENOTOUR Project. The two-hour online session gathered wine industry professionals, academics, and key stakeholders to discuss how digital innovations are shaping wine tourism experiences and business strategies.

The symposium featured presentations from leading researchers and industry experts, highlighting both practical applications and academic research in digital wine tourism:
- Begoña Fernández, Escola d’Enoturisme de Catalunya opened the session with “Towards the digitisation of the wine tourism intermediation sector,” providing insights into how intermediaries and platforms in the wine tourism industry are embracing digital tools to enhance customer experiences and streamline booking processes.
- Daniel Blanco, EURECAT presented “Demonstration of ENOTOUR corporative component: Digital self-assessment tool,” showcasing an innovative tool designed to help wineries and tourism operators evaluate their digital readiness and identify opportunities for improvement in service delivery.
- Leonardo Cei, University of Padova shared research on “The ENOTOUR wine tourism innovation repository: learning from selected cases,” illustrating how curated case studies can inspire new strategies and best practices for wineries aiming to implement digital solutions.
- Lisa Albertini, Massimago Winery discussed “The virtual experience as a complementary component of Massimago’s wine tourism,” highlighting how immersive virtual experiences can complement physical visits, attract new audiences, and provide innovative ways for consumers to engage with wineries remotely.
- Miquel Herrero, Gramona Winery contributed practical insights from his own winery, discussing how digital tools and marketing strategies have been integrated into Gramona’s wine tourism offerings to enhance visitor engagement and operational efficiency.
The presentations sparked lively discussions, with attendees exchanging ideas on leveraging technology to enhance visitor experiences, optimize marketing, and foster innovation within the sector.
This Mini Symposium was the first in a series, to be followed by a Sprint Meeting on 1 December 2025, aimed at addressing specific industry challenges raised by OENOVITI’s industrial partners, with focused one-hour expert discussions.
