Explore the story and its points of interest

Situated in the elevated village of Favaios within the Douro Demarcated Region, Adega Cooperativa de Favaios is a cornerstone of Portuguese winemaking. Founded in 1952, the cooperative brings together hundreds of local winegrowers who cultivate over 1,100 hectares of vineyards. While the winery produces a wide variety of excellent DOC Douro red, white, and sparkling wines, its undisputed masterpiece is the Moscatel Galego Branco. By perfectly capturing the unique terroir of the Favaios plateau, the cooperative has made this small village the capital of Moscatel wine in Portugal.
