Objectives

The general objective of EnoTour is to bolster regional development and innovation in the touristic sector, notably in enotourism, by creating and sustaining public- private digital solutions for training, up-skilling, business innovation and marketing.

Specific Objectives:

To achieve these goals, EnoTour will develop a Virtual Platform, which will be piloted and expanded throughout the project. This platform will serve as a central hub, bringing together diverse audiences to integrate training, professional development, and enotourism opportunities. The platform will target universities/professional certification providers, current higher education students, lifelong learners, professionals in the wine and tourism sectors, wine producers, vineyards, and tourists. It will cover three main components:

  • Developing cutting-edge digital tools to support and promote wine tourism, fostering local and international engagement.
  • Creating innovative pathways to obtain micro-credentials and training programs tailored to students, professionals, and lifelong learners, empowering them to lead innovation in the wine industry..
  • Fostering collaboration between public and private sectors by facilitating sustainable growth and marketing strategies for local wine industries, as well as promoting intra- and interregional approaches.

EnoTour Flagship output: The EnoTour Virtual Platform

To achieve these goals, EnoTour will develop a Virtual Platform, which will be piloted and expanded throughout the project. This platform will serve as a central hub, bringing together diverse audiences to integrate training, professional development, and enotourism opportunities. The platform will target universities/professional certification providers, current higher education students, lifelong learners, professionals in the wine and tourism sectors, wine producers, vineyards, and tourists. It will cover three main components:

  • Educational Component: Proposing 6 study modules in the form of MOOCs, targeted at current university students and professionals working in wineries. These MOOCs will prioritize topics such as wine tourism innovation, digitalization, and enotouristic sustainability, which have been identified as crucial areas for enhancing skills within the industry. Complementing this, specialized training for educators to facilitate effective online and digitally enhanced learning experiences will be provided.
  • Corporate Component: Offering business development opportunities for wineries through a self-assessment tool, consultancy and student projects and theses co- supervised by professors and winery managers, targeted at the enotourism sector .
  • Virtual Component: A virtual enotourism space,to generate contact, collaboration, and exchange between tourists and wine producers of different sizes and production capacities.

In addition to this innovative tool, the project itself positions enotourism as an important dimension of local development, around which universities, VET providers, wine cooperatives, industry, and tourist boards must collaborate across borders.
